We’re everything about motoring
to buy a car in Britain.
We’re all about rewarding and recognising the people who inspire our customers and drive innovations in our business.
That means celebrating success, of course – not just through our competitive pay and rewards, but also programmes such as our Ambassador Awards, where our top-performing people from every part of our business are acknowledged at a prestigious annual ceremony
And that ‘acknowledgment’ is 24/7, 365 days a year. Simply put, we value you for who you are as well as what you do, we look to recruit people of all backgrounds and experiences into the team – and we’re always looking for people with the skills and the commitment to join us on our journey.
A famous past, the brightest of futures
Since 1897, the RAC has been consistently at the forefront in developing motoring services – from introducing uniformed patrols in 1901 and roadside emergency telephone boxes in 1912 right through to the present day when we boast the world’s most advanced computer systems to deal with calls for roadside assistance. Look below to see just how we have changed and continue to change – to keep the motorist moving.
Serving the nation from key locations
Our patrol and recovery teams cover every road in the UK, and we service the country through three state-of-the-art centres, each providing essential support to customers.
Our iconic buildings at Bristol and Walsall are known to the millions of motorway drivers who travel on the M5 and M6 – and we also enjoy a further centre of excellence in Stretford, Manchester. These offices are home to teams that include our Contact Centre, Telematics, Corporate Sales, Patrol & Technical, Legal & Insurance, RAC Shop, RAC Cars – and central functions such as Marketing, I.T & Business Change, Finance and HR teams.
Safer, greener and smarter
We’re in the ‘Top Ten’ of ‘Most Trusted Brands’ because we care – for our members, our colleagues and our communities.
Our green credentials
We’ve radically reduced the carbon intensity of our roadside breakdown service, while still providing the highest level of customer satisfaction – minimising toxic emissions and fuel consumption, deploying intelligent systems (and speeding up recovery). RAC report on motoring First published in 1988, the RAC Report on Motoring has become widely regarded as the voice of Britain’s motorists – analysing key issues such as road safety, motoring taxation, cost of motoring and other key concerns for drivers.
Road safety for
the 21st century
We’ve teamed up with the Department for Transport’s THINK! Campaign and Aardman Animations to launch a national road safety campaign, fronted by Horace – our road safety mascot. Horace reaches out to young people through the nation’s schools and local communities, encouraging them to stay safe on the roads.
