About The Role

As a Product Designer at the RAC you will lead the design aspects of a product Squad and act as a central point of reference for the product's overall user experience.

You will be passionate about delivering best-in-class experiences that drive positive business outcomes.

This role requires proven leadership skills and the ability to execute a creative vision

What you will do: 

  • Work closely and constructively with engineers; product owners and business teams to innovate and devise intuitive, visually appealing solutions that meet both business and user needs.
  • Planning and facilitating both qualitative and quantitative research activities including setting up A/B tests, user interviews, and usability testing.
  • Using design skills to thoroughly explore problems before analysing and synthesising insights to create solutions.
  • Leading and facilitating co-creation sessions with other disciplines to explore problem spaces and ideate potential solutions.
  • Comfortable rapidly ideating design solutions, through sketching, wire-framing, user flows and interactive prototyping to clearly communicate design concepts.
  • Proactively identify new product improvement opportunities using data, customer insights and competitor analysis.
  • Taking a user-centred approach to your work, putting real customer needs at the centre of your thinking, and ensuring that your work is validated with real users.

About You

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced, commercial environment with a track record of delivering high-quality work that delivers positive results.
  • Experience of self-initiated end-to-end product design work, from research and insight gathering through to ideation, prototyping, testing and handover.
  • Experienced designing responsive web experiences, with knowledge of best practices for designing mobile applications.
  • Familiar with defining research and usability briefs, validating research approaches and translating research outcomes into clearly communicated and feasible design iterations.
  • Comfortable presenting ongoing design work at various stages of completion, with a clear rationale, to team members and colleagues of all levels.
  • Able to effectively influence and advise business, design and technical colleagues.

Nice to have

  • Working in a lean and agile environment, as part of collaborative cross-functional teams, with a knowledge of Scrum.
  • Experience within financial services regulated business.
  • Experience of using Figma, Miro, Confluence, Jira and other modern design/ collaboration and planning tools.
  • Design thinking / service design and knowledge of atom design methodology.
