Through your various responsibilities, a Breakdown Support Engineer will help reduce operating costs and increase efficiencies by overseeing vehicle downtime, working with dealer networks at a national level as well as partners to ensure timely closure of complaint cases and proactive management of vehicle downtime.
The role will see you working alongside a team of dedicated technical engineers based at our head office in Bescot (West Midlands)
Breakdown Support Engineers provide onsite, live support to colleagues and customers for the largest specialised lease company in the UK, with a portfolio of over 770,000 vehicles. Breakdown Support Engineers will manage technical complaint cases, working with manufacturers to resolve cases in a timely manner with actions agreeable to all parties involved, whilst managing downtime and it's associated costs. Alongside case management you will compile reports to demonstrate the activity completed and associated benefits.
What you'll do...
- Increase efficiency through providing dynamic diagnostic support leading to a quicker conclusion, resulting in the ability to provide service to more of our customers
- Help customers to resolve simple issues over the phone without the need for onsite attendance, resulting in more RAC patrols attending to our customers each day
- Ensure that our customers receive the correct level of service in relation to the right resource in the first instance
- Gather and share technical information across the wider team ensuring that RAC remain up to date with current technology
- Provide support to colleagues across the business relating to policy and technical queries
What you'll need...
- Minimum level 3 motor vehicle engineering qualification (Master technician qualification preferred)
- Level 3 EV Qualification (IMI Accreditation)
- A high level of diagnosis and repair experience including the use and understanding of workshop diagnostic equipment
- IT proficient to include MS office
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
