What you’ll do
As an Automotive Technical Assistance Technician, you’ll play a crucial role in providing real-time motor vehicle technical support and solutions to RAC customers and frontline colleagues. You’ll be the go-to expert for breakdowns, offering mechanical insight and guidance to ensure effective vehicle repair and resolution at all parts of the breakdown journey.
- Provide expert technical advice via our hotline and internal systems.
- Support patrols with live diagnostic help to boost repair rates and reduce delays.
- Provide live, dynamic diagnostic assistance to roadside teams, helping mechanics and patrols achieve first-time fixes
- Support contact centre teams with remote fixes to avoid unnecessary callouts.
- Occasionally support at roadside or other office locations when needed
What you’ll need
- NVQ Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Engineering (essential)
- Master Technician qualification or equivalent hands‑on experience. (Preferred)
- Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills.
- Confident communicator who thrives in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
