About The Role

RAC has an exciting opportunity for an HSEQ Trainee Business Partner to join our Health, Safety, Environment and Quality team. This is the perfect role for someone with strong transferable skills, great energy and a genuine passion for people & someone who wants to build a long-term, meaningful career in Health & Safety. 

You don’t need to be an H&S expert yet. What matters is your communication skills, your confidence with data, your ability to build relationships, and your drive to learn. We’ll teach you the technical sideyou bring the curiosity, the enthusiasm and the ambition. 

In this role, you’ll support the delivery of our statutory HSEQ requirements, help maintain the systems that keep our colleagues safe, and work closely with senior leaders as you grow into a trusted HSEQ Business Partner. You’ll spend time with teams across the RAC, becoming a known and valued presence in our office network, while also having the autonomy to work independently when needed.

Location: RAC Bescott Office, Walsall | Hybrid: 2 days office / 3 days remote (more office time available if preferred) Starting Salary: £27,000 
 
Please note: occasional business travel is required so you’ll need access to a vehicle and a full UK driving licence.  
 

🌟 What You’ll Be Doing 

  • Support the HSEQ team in delivering statutory, regulatory and continuous improvement requirements across the RAC. 

  • Manage documentation and electronic filing systems, ensuring accuratecompliant and well organised records. 

  • Coordinate work schedules, meetings and activities, helping the team run smoothly and efficiently. 

  • Communicate effectively across the HSEQ team and wider RAC, ensuring clarity, consistency and timely updates. 

  • Provide administrative support to senior HSEQ leaders, maintaining accurate logs, actions and documentation. 

  • Prepare reports, presentations and meeting materials, ensuring information is clear, accurate and delivered on time. 

  • Maintain and update databases, spreadsheets and contact lists, ensuring data integrity and accessibility. 

  • Collate and analyse key HSEQ data, producing timely reports and supporting management information needs. 

  • Track and manage action logs, ensuring follow-through and accountability across the team. 

  • Handle sensitive information with professionalism, confidentiality and integrity. 

  • Visit RAC offices and partner sites, building relationships and becoming a trusted point of contact.

  • Strong communication skills & confident talking to people at all levels. 

  • Excellent IT capability, especially in Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word and PowerPoint. 

  • High levels of organisation, accuracy and attention to detail. 

  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills & comfortable working with figures and data. 

  • Good written English, with the ability to learn how to produce assessments and reports. 

  • A proactive, energetic and positive approach & you bring great energy to your work. 

  • Ability to prioritise, manage time effectively and work independently when needed. 

  • Confidence in resolving issues quickly and effectively. 

  • Trustworthiness, dependability and a strong work ethic. 

  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

🎓 Qualifications & Background 

  • Minimum GCSEs in English and Maths. 

  • Relevant HSEQ related courses or qualifications (or willingness to work towards them). 

  • Experience in administration, coordination or data handling is beneficial but not essential. 

  • A genuine interest in developing a career in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality.
