About The Role

About the Role

We’re looking for a commercially driven Insurance Trading Manager – Retention to join our high-performing Insurance Trading Team. This is a critical role where you’ll take full ownership of our retention strategy, delivering over £30m in renewal revenue and driving performance across our insurance portfolio. Your ability to interpret complex datasets and a wide range of KPIs will be key to unlocking insight and driving measurable results.

This isn’t a role for someone who needs hand-holding — we’re after a self-starter who can hit the ground running, challenge the status quo, and make an immediate impact. You’ll work closely with pricing, product, finance, and insurer relationship teams to turn insight into action, using your analytical strength and commercial acumen to influence decision-making and optimise retention performance. Offering a salary up to 55k depending on experience.

What You’ll Do

  • Own and deliver retention KPIs and revenue targets
  • Analyse performance vs. budget and prior year, and set future targets
  • Present weekly trading performance summaries to senior stakeholders
  • Identify opportunities and mitigate risks with a commercial lens
  • Build compelling business cases to support retention initiatives
  • Influence and manage a matrix of internal stakeholders across pricing, product, insurance, and finance
  • Understand customer behaviours and reasons for churn, and translate complex insights into clear, actionable strategies
  • Optimise retention processes, including those managed by our third-party administrator (MSG)

What You’ll Bring

  • Proven experience in a commercially focused insurance role, ideally within personal lines
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and a wide range of KPIs to drive actionable insights
  • Strong commercial acumen and prioritisation skills
  • A proactive mindset — confident in challenging norms and driving change
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to present to senior stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently, manage complexity, and summarise key actions clearly
  • Experience working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Assertiveness and presence to thrive in a small team of big personalities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant degree or vocational qualifications (preferred but not essential)
