About The Role

Join the RAC as a Head of Digital Product and shape the future of vehicle off-road services through digital innovation, automation and AI.

The RAC is transforming how vehicle off-road journeys are managed, moving from legacy systems and manual processes to modern digital products that deliver better outcomes for members, partners and colleagues.

At the centre of that transformation is our Vehicle Off Road Case Management platform – a proven solution that manages the end-to-end journey from the moment a vehicle becomes undrivable through to repair, mobility support and return to service.

This is a rare opportunity to take an established product with strong foundations and turn it into a significant commercial proposition. You'll work across product, technology, operations and commercial teams, driving expansion into new fleet markets, modernising critical internal processes and identifying where automation, machine learning and AI can unlock meaningful business value.

Reporting directly to the Director of Digital Breakdown, you'll have the backing, visibility and autonomy to make a lasting impact across one of the RAC's most important operational domains.

Flexible Hybrid working arrangements

What you'll do

  • Own the end-to-end product strategy for the Vehicle Off Road Case Management platform, setting the vision, roadmap and priorities that deliver measurable business outcomes.
  • Lead a cross-functional team of product, engineering and design specialists, creating an environment where people can do their best work and deliver value at pace.
  • Drive the commercial growth of the platform, working with business stakeholders to expand into new fleet and business markets.
  • Enhance and evolve the proposition for existing strategic partners while balancing commercial objectives, operational requirements and long-term product strategy.
  • Lead the transition away from legacy operational systems, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, simplify processes and reduce costs.
  • Establish a predictable delivery rhythm, ensuring teams deliver consistently against a clear and transparent roadmap.
  • Shape the future of Vehicle Off Road services through intelligent automation, AI and machine learning.
  • Identify opportunities to improve case management, mobility coordination, garage engagement and operational decision-making using data-driven technologies.
  • Represent the product internally at senior leadership level and externally with clients, partners and stakeholders.
  • Build the long-term product capability required to support future growth and innovation.

What you'll need

  • Strong stakeholder and partner management skills, with the ability to balance client expectations against business priorities and product direction.
  • A commercially focused mindset, able to connect product decisions to revenue growth, operational efficiency and customer outcomes.
  • A track record of delivering meaningful product improvements in fast-paced environments where priorities, resources and constraints must be carefully managed.
  • Experience working with, or a strong understanding of, AI, automation or machine learning within digital products and operational workflows.
  • Ability to work from Bristol or Birmingham for a minimum of two days per week, with flexibility to travel between both locations.
