Resourcing Team Manager

Join the RAC as a Resourcing Team Manager and help shape how we plan and deploy resources across our Roadside and Contact Centre operations, ensuring we're ready to support our members when they need us most.
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead a team at the heart of the National Resource Centre. You'll combine people leadership, resource planning, forecasting and operational decision-making to make sure we have the right people in the right place at the right time. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you'll play a key role in balancing operational performance, colleague wellbeing and resource efficiency.
What you'll do
- Lead, develop and support a team of Tactical Resourcing Specialists, creating a high-performing team where colleagues are empowered to succeed.
- Manage the medium and short-term deployment of resources across Roadside Operations and Contact Centres, ensuring hours are placed effectively to meet business demand.
- Review and optimise contract utilisation, banked hours and flexible working arrangements, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce wasted resource.
- Work closely with Forecasting, Planning, Adherence and Operational teams to identify risks, resolve resourcing challenges and support the delivery of seasonal demand plans.
- Use data, forecasting and operational insight to identify trends, resource gaps and future risks, helping the business make informed workforce planning decisions.
- Ensure strong governance across resourcing activities, including contract adherence, downtime plans and deployment principles.
- Champion colleague wellbeing by supporting fair and balanced resourcing decisions that work for both the business and our people.
- Support recruitment, development and multi-skilling within the team, helping build capability and future-proof the wider function.
What you'll need
- Experience leading a workforce planning, scheduling, resource management or operational planning team within a fast-paced environment.
- Strong forecasting and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and turn insight into practical actions.
- Advanced Excel skills, including working with large data sets, reporting, modelling and analysis to support operational decision-making.
- A proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple teams and functions to deliver successful business outcomes.
- A resilient and adaptable leadership style, with strong organisational skills and a track record of developing high-performing teams and delivering results under pressure.
