RAC’s Corporate Legal Team are on the lookout for a Senior Data Protection Manager who will play a vital role in safeguarding data privacy across the organisation.
This role sits within the RAC’s Data Protection Team, part of the wider Governance, Risk and Compliance function. You’ll be essential in ensuring RAC complies with all data protection legislation while supporting business growth and innovation in a privacy-conscious way.

What you’ll do
- Act as a key point of contact for data protection queries across the business.
- Conduct privacy reviews, including Data Protection Impact Assessments.
- Oversee data subject rights requests and disclosure requests.
- Perform horizon scanning and recommend improvements to the business.
- Maintain RAC’s policies, processes, templates, and privacy notices.
- Support due diligence and audits for corporate partner networks.
- Monitor the team mailbox, allocate work, and respond to complex queries.
- Organise and deliver data protection training.
- Investigate potential data breaches and escalate to the DPO when required.
- Prepare ad-hoc metrics and reports.
- Collaborate with Information Security and Corporate Legal teams to ensure compliance in IT systems and contractual obligations.
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience as a Data Protection Manager/Analyst or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of UK GDPR, Data Protection Act, and privacy best practices.
- Confident using Microsoft applications and familiar with data management systems.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Professional qualification such as CIPP/E, CIP/M, or equivalent knowledge.
