Resourcing Specialist

Part‑Time | Fixed Term Contract (3 months)

Location: Walsall, Bescot Office

Salary: £11,308.23 (Pro-Rata)

Hours: 17.5 per week (Monday–Friday, between 8am–6pm) Occasional weekend work required (up to 10 weekends per year)

If you’re someone who loves bringing order to chaos, enjoys supporting teams behind the scenes, and gets real satisfaction from making things run smoothly, this could be a great fit for you.

We’re looking for a Resourcing Specialist to join us on a part‑time, fixed‑term basis. This role plays a key part in helping our operational teams, Roadside, Branded, and Contact Centres stay fully supported so we can continue delivering the service our members rely on.

You’ll take ownership of scheduling and planning for a specific area, focusing on either Rostering or Tactical Planning depending on what’s needed at the time. It’s a role where you can make a real difference day to day.

What You’ll Do:

You’ll work within one of two areas at any given time:

Rostering

  • Build and manage schedules that match our forecasted demand.
  • Create fair, balanced rosters that support colleague wellbeing and meet operational needs.
  • Manage annual leave, training time, and downtime.
  • Support new starters and ensure leavers are processed accurately.

Tactical Planning

  • Align staffing with forecasts and arrange overtime when needed.
  • Keep communication clear and consistent with teams across the organisation.
  • Ensure working arrangements stay aligned with budgets.
  • Support a consistent approach to resourcing across the country.

What You’ll Need

  • A solid understanding of resourcing and workforce planning.
  • Confidence working to tight deadlines.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Good working knowledge of workforce management systems, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • The ability to communicate clearly and build positive working relationships.

Benefits & Rewards

We know our colleagues go above and beyond, and we make sure that effort is recognised. Here’s what you can look forward to:

  • Eligibility to join our bonus scheme.
  • 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays.
  • Option to join the RAC Group Personal Pension Scheme, with up to 6.5% employer contributions.
  • Family leave support, including paid time off and flexible arrangements.
  • 24/7 confidential personal support service for you and household family members aged 16+.
  • Car salary sacrifice scheme (after 12 months), including electric vehicle options.
  • FREE RAC Ultimate Complete Breakdown Service from day one.
  • Access to Orange Savings, our discounts portal with thousands of offers.
  • Automatic enrolment into ‘Owning it Together’, our colleague share scheme, giving you the chance to share in RAC’s future success.

Together, we are all #OrangeHeroes — and we’d love you to be part of that.

We’re committed to creating a workplace that reflects the diverse communities we serve. We want everyone to feel welcome, supported, and able to thrive. We encourage applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences.
