In this pivotal role, you will work closely with the Insurance Finance team to understand and drive financial performance through timely and accurate financial reporting, strategic analysis, and robust financial control. This is an ideal role for someone who is part qualified or currently studying towards an accountancy qualification.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Reporting & Financial Control
- Deliver accurate financials and KPIs, including balance sheet reconciliations.
- Lead cost tracking, weekly outturns, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Prepare monthly reporting packs and ad hoc financial deliverables.
- Simplify and standardise financial processes for consistency and efficiency.
- Ensure financial controls operate effectively and support YE audit requirements.
Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting
- Support the development of annual budgets, reforecasts, and financial plans.
- Provide a consolidated financial view of the Insurance business.
- Monitor KPIs and performance against budget, with insightful commentary.
Accounting & Process Improvement
- Produce and maintain P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
- Understand and apply accounting policies and tax treatments.
- Challenge and validate cost data, simplifying processes where possible.
What We’re Looking For
- Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills.
- Solid commercial awareness and understanding of the Insurance sector.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels.
- Proven ability to work under pressure, assimilate complex data, and challenge constructively.
- Highly organised with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
